LAKESIDE, California (March 17, 2015) — A motorcyclist suffered major injuries Tuesday morning in a collision with a big rig truck on the State Route Highway 67 at Vigilante Road, according to a dispatch by the California Highway Patrol.
About 6:26 a.m., CHP officers say a big rig truck and a motorcycle collided, closing down both the northbound and southbound lanes and prompting a SigAlert. The rider suffered major injuries and was airlifted by helicopter to Sharp Memorial Medical Center. The same big rig truck was also involved in a minor collision with a second motorcyclist, the report said.
The second rider suffered minor injuries in the crash. Police are investigating the circumstances and will issue a report with their findings of liability.
“Hopefully those injured in this crash get the best care available for a full recovery,” said Attorney James Johnson.
