Bicyclist Suffers Major Injuries in Collision with Vehicle
LAKESIDE, Calif. (July 30, 2025) — A bicyclist sustained major injuries Wednesday morning following a collision with a vehicle near the intersection of Channel Road and Lakeshore Drive, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The incident occurred around 8:44 a.m. on July 30th, when dispatchers received an open-line 911 call in which someone could be heard saying, “She’s underneath the vehicle.” Minutes later, reports confirmed that a vehicle had struck a bicyclist in the area.
Responding officers initially classified the incident as involving unknown injuries but quickly upgraded it to a major injury crash. Emergency medical services were dispatched to the scene, and the injured bicyclist was transported to a nearby hospital.
Authorities coordinated with Western Tow and County Wide Tow to remove the involved vehicle and preserve any potential evidence. At least one tow truck arrived on scene by 9:25 a.m.
CHP is investigating the cause of the collision. No information has been released regarding the driver involved or whether impairment or speed were contributing factors.
