Pedestrian Struck By Vehicle at San Gabriel and Rosemead Boulevards
SOUTH EL MONTE, Calif. (Dec. 18, 2020) – Lamanda Lovin, 61, of Norwalk, was struck by a pickup truck and killed Thursday night as she attempted to cross a street near the Whittier Narrows Recreation Area in South El Monte.
The fatal El Monte pedestrian accident happened at 6:20 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol’s East Los Angeles Area Office.
Meanwhile, police and paramedics responded to the area at San Gabriel and Rosemead boulevards.
Woman Hit by Pickup Truck in El Monte
Witnesses saw Lamanda Lovin standing in the center median prior to the collision. A 28-year-old La Puente man driving a 2001 GMC truck approached and she reportedly stepped out to cross the street. That’s when she was hit by the motorist.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded and found the woman still alive, but sadly she died at the scene.
The driver of the truck stopped and cooperated with authorities arrived. Finally, police will determine liability for the fatal crash.
