Lamar Maxwell Fatal Long Beach Pedestrian Accident on PCH
Man, 65, Killed in PCH Hit-and-run Crash is Identified
LONG BEACH, Calif. (Jan. 5, 2024) – Lamar Maxwell, 65, has been identified as the victim of a hit-and-run pedestrian accident who died early Wednesday morning on Pacific Coast Highway in Long Beach.
The victim was crossing the roadway when he was struck by a vehicle at around 5:25 a.m. on Jan. 3rd, according to the Long Beach Police Department. It happened at Pacific Coast Highway and Temple Avenue, police said. It is the second pedestrian fatality on PCH in the past week.
Paramedics responded and located the injured man, but sadly he died at the scene. The Los Angeles County Sheriff Coroner later identified him as Lamar Maxwell.
The driver, who later turned herself in to police, reportedly fled the scene without stopping to help the pedestrian. Cher Srey, 55, of Long Beach, faces felony hit-and-run charges.
