The incident allegedly took place at roughly 5:51 p.m. when a vehicle, a truck, and a semi-truck were involved.
Preliminary investigations disclose that the driver of a southbound truck entered the intersection and collided with an undisclosed vehicle that careened into a semi-truck and a power pole.
The driver of the vehicle suffered fatal injuries and was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. He was identified in Bakersfield Now as 28-year-old Alejandro Moreno, of Bakersfield.
The truck driver responsible for the collision fled the scene as he is being described as a Hispanic man with a tattoo on his right arm.
The semi-truck driver apparently did not suffer injuries.
At this time, CHP officials are investigating the incident and continue their search for the suspect.
The staff of Johnson Attorneys Group offers our prayers and heartfelt condolences to the family members and friends of Mr. Alejandro Moreno at this time.
