Passenger Seriously Injured in Lamont Crash at Di Gorgio Road and May Street
LAMONT, CA (March 29, 2021) – A DUI crash seriously injured one person at Di Gorgio Road and May Street in Lamont.
According to an article published by the Bakersfield Now, the accident occurred on Monday. Officers reported the wreck at around 5 p.m.
The California Highway Patrol said a Toyota Camry slammed into the rear of an SUV. The two collided at the intersection of Di Gorgio Road and May Street in Lamont.
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and found a passenger in the Camry hurt upon impact. The patient suffered major injuries as a result of the collision.
DUI Driver Hits Another Car in Lamont
Medical personnel took the wounded party to the hospital for treatment. The name of the victim and their condition at this time were not released.
Meanwhile, CHP determined that the driver the Toyota was under the influence when the incident happened. Officials also treated the motorist for the minor injuries they sustained upon impact.
Authorities soon arrested the suspect for DUI. Officers forced Di Gorgio Road to close between Wood Street and May Street following the Lamont crash.
The DUI collision is still under investigation.
