LAMONT: Motorcyclist, Car Crash at Gail Marie Drive and Highway 184

Motorcyclist Suffers Major Injuries in Crash on Main Street and Gail Marie Drive

shutterstock_203269444LAMONT, California (December 10, 2014) – A motorcyclist suffered major injuries Wednesday morning in a collision with another driver at the intersection of Gail Marie Drive and Highway 184 (Main Street), about 9 miles south-east of downtown Bakersfield, according to a dispatch by the California Highway Patrol.

The motorcyclist was critically injured in the crash after being ejected from the black 2005 Kawasaki Ninja 250 bike and falling onto the ground. Paramedics responded to the scene of the crash and airlifted the rider to Kern Medical Center for treatment of life-threatening injuries.

One caller thought the rider had died as they were not responsive. The driver of the sedan that collided with the motorcyclist pulled over and was stopped in the Fastrip gas station parking lot.

Police are conducting an investigation into this crash to determine liability and will issue a report with their findings.

“Hopefully this person pulls through and has a full recovery,” said Attorney James Johnson.
