Bicyclist Killed in Lancaster Hit-and-Run Crash on Avenue H
LANCASTER, CA (February 7, 2022) – A bicyclist was killed after a hit-and-run crash on Avenue H in Lancaster.
According to an article published by The Antelope Valley Times, the tragic accident took place on Saturday night. Officers reported the collision at around 9:02 p.m.
The incident happened on February 5 when a man in his 30s was riding a bicycle eastbound on Avenue H, just east of Division Street, in Lancaster. A vehicle was traveling in the same direction at the time.
The Lancaster Sheriff’s Station said for an unknown reason, the driver hit him. Firefighters along with the paramedics then arrived and found the cyclist left lying on the ground.

He sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision. Medical personnel soon pronounced the bicycle rider dead at the scene.
His name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin. Meanwhile, deputies affirmed that the motorist checked on the victim but fled the area.
Witnesses last saw the suspect, a Hispanic man wearing a reflective vest and construction boots, near Avenue E near 20th Street West.
Officers described the car as a 1994-2000, dark colored (possibly red or green), GMC Sierra or Chevrolet Silverado which obtained front-end damage.
The cause of the fatal Lancaster hit-and-run crash is still under investigation. Anyone with information can call the deputies at 661-948-8466.
