One Wounded Victim ID’d as Josefina Garcia
LANCASTER, California (March 28, 2016) – A deadly 2-car accident was reported at the intersection of Avenue I and 30th Street East on Monday, according to The Antelope Valley Times.
The crash occurred around 11:50 a.m.
As per the article, preliminary investigation showed that a 1984 Pontiac, headed east on Avenue I, entered the intersection at 30th Street East allegedly against a red light.
At the same time, a 2001 Chevy Suburban was going south on 30th Street East and entered the intersection at Avenue I on a green light. The two collided.
The Antelope Valley Times said the Pontiac subsequently slammed into traffic pole. Its driver was taken to Antelope Valley Hospital where he later died.
The Suburban driver, Lancaster resident Josefina Garcia , and five other occupants in the vehicle complained of pain. They were all treated at the scene and then released.
Alcohol or drugs did not appear to have played a role in the incident.
