Female Deputy Injured, Wrong-Way Driver Killed in Lancaster Accident on Avenue F
LANCASTER (March 11, 2018) – A wrong-way driver was the cause of a fatal auto accident Sunday along Avenue F, according to The Antelope Valley Times.
The collision took place at around 1:40 a.m., east of 15th Street West.
As per the article, California Highway Patrol said a 1998 Volvo rear-ended another vehicle on northbound Highway 14 and Avenue F off-ramp. The male driver of the Volvo left and turned onto eastbound Avenue F.
The CHP officials pursued the Volvo as it immediately swerved left. The suspect’s car ultimately crashed head-on into a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department patrol cruiser that was headed west on Avenue F at the time.

The operator of the Volvo, 23-year-old Dominique Johnson, died at the scene. His passenger, 30-year-old California City resident Antonio Adam Enriquez, was taken to Antelope Valley Hospital with moderate injuries.
CHP affirmed that the female deputy in the marked black and white patrol vehicle suffered injuries to her left side following the wreck. She was also hospitalized and was listed in stable condition.
Meanwhile, it was believed that deputy was responding to an unrelated call when the incident occurred. Alcohol and/or drugs appeared to have played a role in the tragic collision. The investigation is ongoing.
