LANDERS, Calif. (May 21, 2021) — A Landers crash involving a pedestrian happened Friday morning on Reche Road.
UPDATE: Leroy Thomas Plum, 56, of Landers, was identified as the man who died in the crash on Reche Road.
The head-on collision happened about 3:10 a.m. on May 21s near Lauria Drive, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Additionally, besides the pedestrian, the vehicles involved include a pickup truck and a sedan. The pickup truck overturned onto its side and blocked the eastbound lanes of the roadway. However, the CHP report did not mention what led up to the Reche Road crash or how the pedestrian became involved. It’s likely that one of the vehicles veered into the path of the other one.
