Lanian Lee, 36; and Cornelio Cedillo Ramirez, 50, ID’d as Suspects in Fresno DUI Crash
FRESNO, CA (May 8, 2022) – Authorities detained Lanian Lee and Cornelio Cedillo Ramirez after a DUI crash in Fresno.
Police determined that the two drivers were under the influence of alcohol when the wreck took place on Sunday.
The incident began when Lanian Lee, 36; and Cornelio Cedillo Ramirez, 50, were driving in the area of Chestnut Avenue and Highway 180 in Fresno.
At the same time, a white Chevy truck was stopped at a red light on Chestnut. Police said a Chevy Cruze driven by one of the suspects then slammed into the rear of the truck.
A female passenger of the truck and the driver exited their car as a result of the collision. In the process, a gray Lexus approached and hit the victim.
Woman Seriously Injured in Collision
The Fresno Bee wrote that the accident occurred at about 1:45 a.m. The impact threw the woman into the roadway about 10 to 15 feet away.
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and found the passenger lying on the ground. She sustained significant injuries, including a broken shoulder, following the accident.
Medical personnel rushed the patient to the Community Regional Medical Center in stable condition. The report did not release the name of the wounded party.
Meanwhile, police soon took Lanian Lee and Cornelio Cedillo Ramirez into custody and booked them on charges of DUI after the crash.
Officers arrested them on felony charges of being an intoxicated driver while causing injury/death, and driving with a 0.08% alcohol level while causing death/injury.
They charged Lanian Lee with a misdemeanor allegation of driving with a suspended license. The Fresno DUI crash is still under investigation.
