LAPD Bicycle Officer Injured in Koreatown DUI Crash on Ardmore Avenue

LOS ANGELES, CA (April 1, 2022) – An LAPD bicycle officer was hospitalized after a DUI crash on Ardmore Avenue in Koreatown.

According to the FOX 11 News and My News LA, the accident took place on Friday morning. Officers reported the collision at about 8 a.m.

The incident happened when a vehicle struck a Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) bicycle officer in the Koreatown neighborhood.

Police said the driver hit the officer in the 900 block of South Ardmore Avenue. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene.

Victim Hit by Vehicle

Medical personnel found the victim who ended up suffering from non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the accident. They rushed the patient to a hospital for treatment.

The report did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, police determined that the motorist was under the influence when they slammed into the bike.

Officials soon arrested the suspect for DUI. The LAPD officers forced a stretch of Ardmore Avenue to shut down following the collision.

The Koreatown DUI crash is still under investigation.
