LAPD Officer Injured in Chinatown Crash at Alpine and Main Streets
LOS ANGELES, CA (March 11, 2022) – An LAPD officer was hospitalized after a crash at Alpine and Main streets in Chinatown.
According to the KTLA News and CBS Los Angeles, the accident took place on Friday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at around 4:20 p.m.
The incident happened when a Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officer was riding a motorcycle in the Chinatown neighborhood. For an unknown reason, the officer collided with another vehicle.
Motorcyclist and Vehicle Collide
The two crashed at the intersection of Alpine and North Main streets. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the Twin Towers Correctional Facility.
Medical personnel found the motorcyclist who complained of pain as a result of the collision. They took him to a local hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
Meanwhile, police added that the other driver stopped and stayed at the site following the wreck. Officers forced the area of Alpine and Main streets to shut down after the LAPD related incident.
The cause of the Chinatown crash is still under investigation.
