Larry Pearson, 65, Badly Injured in Big Rig Crash at Mountain View and Keyes Roads

KEYES, CA (August 2, 2021) – Larry Pearson was badly injured after a big rig crash at Mountain View Road and Keyes Road in Stanislaus County.

The California Highway Patrol identified the 65-year-old Atwater man as the victim of the fatal collision which occurred last week on Friday.

The incident happened on July 30 when Larry Pearson was driving a big rig west on Keyes Road. At the same time, a 2009 Toyota Corolla was going south on Mountain View Road.

For an unknown reason, the car failed to stop at the stop sign and entered the intersection directly in front of the semi-truck. In the process, the two collided.

CHP said the tractor-trailer rolled over onto the passenger side and then slammed into an almond tree. Larry Pearson sustained moderate injuries as a result of the Keyes crash.

Paramedics took him to the Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock for treatment. The Modesto Bee and The Turlock Journal wrote that the accident took place at about 6:20 a.m.

The female driver of the Toyota died while her passenger ended up hospitalized with minor wounds. Meanwhile, CHP forced Keyes Road to shut down for hours following the crash.

The tragic collision is still under investigation.
