Larry Sherman Johnson III, 26, Killed in Oildale Motorcycle Crash

OILDALE, CA (July 30, 2021) – A crash killed Larry Sherman Johnson III at Merle Haggard and Airport drives in Oildale.

The Kern County Coroner’s Office identified the 26-year-old Bakersfield man as the victim of the fatal wreck last week.

The incident began when Larry Sherman Johnson III was riding a motorcycle in the area Merle Haggard and Airport drives in Oildale.

Big Rig Hits Motorcyclist at Merle Haggard and Airport

At the same time, a big rig was traveling the wrong way on Merle Haggard. The California Highway Patrol said the semi-truck then hit the motorcyclist in the intersection.

Larry Sherman Johnson III died as a result of the Oildale crash. The Bakersfield Californian and Kern Golden Empire, wrote that the accident took place on Friday on June 23 at around 12:15 a.m.

Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the driver of the big rig stayed at the site and cooperated with the authorities. The Oildale crash is still under investigation.
