Las Vegas Man Steven Cox Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Alton Parkway, Irvine
UPDATE 6/16/2026: Irvine Police Arrest Hit-and-Run Suspect in Fatal Crash
IRVINE, Calif. (June 11, 2026) – Steven Craig Cox, 63, of Las Vegas, died in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Alton Parkway and Irvine Center Drive in Irvine.
The deadly collision occurred on June 10th around 8:55 p.m. at the Irvine intersection, according to the Irvine Police Department. The man was reportedly walking in a marked crosswalk across Alton Parkway at Irvine Center Drive when a westbound driver drove through the intersection and struck the man.
Paramedics responded to the scene and transported the injured pedestrian to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. The coroner was later identified as 63-year-old Steven Craig Cox, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department said.
Suspect Felix Gerardo Murillo, 25, Arrested
Detectives began searching for the suspect in a dark-colored vehicle with front-end damage. A local resident reported a black Ford SUV with front-end damage parked near Barranca Parkway and State Route 133. Police connect the vehicle to the suspect, identified as Felix Gerardo Murillo, 25, of Lake Forest. He was arrested on Friday, June 12th, and charged with felony hit-and-run with permanent and serious injury.
