LATHROP (April 4, 2017)- According to the California Highway Patrol, a major injury rollover collision took place Tuesday morning on southbound Interstate 5 freeway near the westbound Highway 120 connector.
The collision which occurred at roughly 7:40 a.m. involved up to four vehicles including a big rig and a Mitsubishi Eclipse.
Per the dispatch report, three of the four vehicles were described as being overturned including the big rig.
Major injuries were confirmed to at least two motorists who needed to be extricated from their vehicles via the assistance of the fire department before being rushed to an ER for immediate assessment.
Several tow-trucks were required to remove all vehicles from off the road including a heavy duty tow-truck for the big rig.
No details have been released at this time specifying what exactly transpired leading up to the wreck as California Highway Patrol official handle the investigation.
