Semi-Truck, Car Crash on I-5 Freeway in Lathrop
LATHROP, Calif. (Dec. 15, 2021) – A Lathrop crash involving a car and semi-truck happened Wednesday morning on the Interstate 5 Freeway, just north of the Roth Road on ramp.
The two-vehicle collision occurred in the southbound lanes of the I-5 about 6:15 a.m. on Dec. 15th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The driver in the vehicle reportedly veered off the freeway and down an embankment next to the I-5 Freeway, police said.
Another semi-truck driver pulled over and called 911 to report witnessing the collision. The driver told dispatch operators they did not know where the involved big rig truck went. Firefighters responded to the scene to help those injured in the crash. An ambulance transported the driver from the car to a hospital. A tow truck removed the damaged vehicle from the Lathrop crash scene on the Interstate 5 Freeway.
Finally, the traffic accident remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
