Major Injury Collision on West Side (5) Freeway Tuesday
Lathrop, CA (June 15, 2021) – At least one person suffered serious injuries following a car crash on Interstate 5, also known as West Side Freeway, in Lathrop early Tuesday.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch, a vehicle veered off the roadway for an unknown reason. The car reportedly rolled over, and landed on its side in the northbound side of the freeway.
The crash happened near the Lathrop Road onramp at approximately 12:50 a.m.

When rescue teams arrived at the site, they found the car engulfed in flames. Responding firefighters worked extensively to put out the fire.
The California Highway Patrol log later confirmed the accident resulted in injuries to at least one person. Pending confirmation, the name of the victim and their condition at this time remained undisclosed.
Investigators handling the case continue to work at this time to determine the precise cause of the car crash in Lathrop.
