Latitia Austin Ahmed, 54, Killed in Berkeley Pedestrian Crash on Ashby Avenue
BERKELEY, CA (July 29, 2021) – Latitia Austin Ahmed was killed after a pedestrian crash on Ashby Avenue in Berkeley.
The Alameda County coroner’s office identified the 54-year-old Vallejo woman as one of the victims in the fatal collision which occurred on Monday.
The incident happened when Latitia Austin Ahmed and her 25-year-old daughter were walking across Ashby Avenue in Berkeley. At the same time, a vehicle was going east.
2 Women Hit by Vehicle
Police said for an unknown reason, the car hit the two women near Newbury Street. The Daily Californian and East Bay Times wrote that the accident took place on July 26 at about 9:56 p.m.
Latitia Austin Ahmed and the other pedestrian ended up injured as a result of the Berkeley crash. Paramedics then rushed them to hospital where the mother died.
Medical personnel soon listed her daughter in stable condition. Meanwhile, police affirmed that the driver stopped, stayed at the site and cooperated with the authorities.
