Personal Injury and Wrongful Death Lawyer
Based on the information provided in the report, the company employing the big rig driver could potentially be held liable for the collision. A thorough investigation will ensue, however, as photos that were taken of the scene and compiled evidence will help investigators determine the ultimate cause of the collision. Police officials will examine all potential factors including speed, the possible involvement of alcohol or drugs, or whether or not there were any mechanical issues with either vehicle. The investigation will also consist of looking at measurements of evidence left by the vehicles such as point of impact, final resting positions of each vehicle, skid marks, and gouge marks.
In such cases where negligence or wrongdoing may have been a factor, the family of the 45-year-old male victim, as well as Laura Miller, will likely be subject to file wrongful death and personal injury lawsuits respectively against the company employing the big rig driver responsible for this collision. Those not found liable may seek compensation for damages including funeral costs, loss of companionship, medical expenses and hospital bills, pain and suffering, and lost future income.
