Laura Rose, 23, Killed in Car Crash Near Olive Mill Road
MONTECITO, Santa Barbara County (June 2, 2018) – One person was killed, and another was injured in an auto accident early Saturday on Highway 101, according to Noozhawk.
The fatality has been identified as 23-year-old Laura Kristine Rose, of Mission Viejo.
Primary reports indicated a single-vehicle crashed on Highway 101 at about 1:40 a.m. The collision occurred at the southbound Olive Mill off-ramp.
The wreck happened when the driver, 31-year-old Kyle Jesse Maysey, allowed his 2017 Hyundai to veer off the roadway for unknown reasons. Officials said the vehicle traveled down the embankment where it struck a streetlight and a tree.

As per the article, the accident resulted in fatal trauma to the passenger who was seated in the right front seat, later identified as Rose. The woman was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.
Meanwhile, Maysey reportedly sustained major injuries as a result of the crash. He was taken by AMR ambulance to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment.
The Olive Mill off-ramp was closed for about three hours following the wreck.
