Woman Fatally Struck by Vehicle on West A Street Offramp
Hayward, CA (November 5, 2022) – Laura Winters, a 49-year-old female, died following a pedestrian accident that occurred in the area of Interstate 880 and West A Street offramp.
According to the East Bay Times, two people were spotted running in the center divider of the freeway Friday morning. Officers later responded to the site and tried to stop the two pedestrians. Earlier reports indicated one person, a female, resisted apprehension and continued running away from the officers.
The article published online mentioned the woman dashed across the freeway; and went to the direction of West A Street offramp. A passing motorist was not able to avoid and hit the pedestrian. The horrible crash took place around 3:57 a.m.
Deadly Pedestrian Accident on Interstate 880 in Hayward
When medical personnel arrived at the scene, they immediately attended to the injured woman. Sadly, the pedestrian succumbed to her trauma and died. Authorities later identified the deceased as Laura Winters.
Several factors surrounding the catastrophic incident remained unclear. At this time, detectives continue to investigate the precise circumstances that led up to the deadly collision in the area of Interstate 880 and West A Street offramp.
