Girl Fatally Struck by Vehicle on East Mission Road
SAN MARCOS (May 13, 2018) – A teenage girl identified as Lauren Wolford was fatally injured Saturday morning when a driver struck her on the sidewalk in the 500 block of East Mission Road in front of Mission Hills High School, according to CBS News.
The collision was reported about 11 a.m., when a driver in a black BMW veered over the curb and struck the student and then crashed into a wall. The driver in the vehicle was also a student from the same high school who is believed to be on the baseball team.
Wolford, who was a senior and set to graduate soon, died of her injuries at the scene. A memorial has been started at the scene of the collision and grief counselors and social workers were at the school today to help students cope with this horrible news.
