Lavelle Hayes, 23, Killed in Victorville Crash at Amargosa and Tawney Ridge
VICTORVILLE, CA (April 12, 2021) – A car crash killed Lavelle Hayes near Amargosa Road and Tawney Ridge Lane in Victorville.
The San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office identified the 23-year-old Victorville woman as the victim of the fatal wreck on Sunday night.
The incident happened on April 11 when Lavelle Hayes was driving a 2012 BMW west on Tawney Ridge Lane, approaching Amargosa Road.
At the same time, a San Bernardino County sheriff’s deputy was going north on Amargosa. He was responding to an accident on Innovation Way in a Victorville police cruiser.
Sheriff’s Deputy Injured in Car Collision Sunday
Victor Valley News reported that Lavelle Hayes tried to turn from Tawney Ridge onto Amargosa. In the process, the BMW collided with the patrol unit at the intersection.
The BMW rolled onto the sidewalk on the southbound side of Amargosa as a result of the collision. The accident occurred shortly after 9:30 p.m.
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded and pronounced Lavelle dead at the scene. Medical personnel took the deputy to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Meanwhile, the cause of the tragic crash is still under investigation.
