3 Killed, Several Hurt in 3-Vehicle Crash on Needles Highway
NEEDLES, Calif. (July 30, 2018) — Lavon Salabye, 34, of Window Rock AZ, Dolores Garcia, 48, of Anaheim and a third unidentified driver died in a multi-vehicle crash on Needles Highway near mile marker 12, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff Coroner.
The fatal crash took place about 8:54 a.m. on Sunday morning near Aha Macav Parkway. Salabye was reportedly driving a 2018 Dodge Caravan southbound on Needles Highway and failed to negotiate a right-hand turn. His vehicle struck three others that were headed northbound and killed himself and two others including Garcia. The report did not specify which vehicle Garcia was in at the time of the crash.
The third fatality was the driver of one of the three vehicles involved. All three were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
Several others were injured and taken to hospitals.
The Needles office of the California Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.

At this time, it appears that the Lavon Salabye may be responsible for this horrible crash. It appears he made an unsafe turn and veered into the path of the other motorists.
