Lawrence Dileva, 38, ID’d as Suspect in Mead Valley Fatal DUI Crash
MEAD VALLEY, CA (February 5, 2022) – Authorities detained Lawrence Dileva after a fatal DUI crash on Cajalco Road in Mead Valley.
Deputies determined that the 38-year-old man was under the influence of alcohol when the wreck took place last week on Friday.
The incident happened when Lawrence Martin Dileva slammed head-on into another car on Cajalco Road in Mead Valley. A third vehicle then became involved in the collision just west of Barton Street.
The Riverside County News Source and My News LA wrote that the accident occurred on January 28 at about 5:50 a.m. A woman ended up trapped inside her vehicle as a result of the crash.
Demiris Reid, 65, Killed in Wreck
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and rescued her from the wreckage. The victim, 65-year-old Nuevo resident Demiris Laurel Reid, died at the scene.
Meanwhile, officers arrested Lawrence Dileva on charges of second-degree murder, gross vehicular manslaughter and DUI resulting in great bodily injuries.
They soon booked him into custody and charged him with DUI repeat offender, multiple prior felony strikes and prior state prison enhancements. Officials set his bail at $1 million.
