Authorities ID Man Struck by Metro Train and Killed at Station in South LA
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Dec. 11, 2019) — Lawrence Furbush, 42, of Los Angeles, died when he was struck by a Metro Expo Line train at the Farmdale station near Exposition Boulevard and Farmdale Avenue.
The crash took place about 1 a.m. in the West Adams area, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Furbush was reportedly by himself standing on the platform when he suddenly lost his balance and fell backward onto the tracks.
An oncoming Metro trin struck him and kept going because the conductor did not realize someone had fell onto the tracks, police said.
A second train spotted the man’s body and stopped.
Sadly, Furbush did not survive and was pronounced dead at the scene.
