Lawrence Lavish, 41, Killed in Grass Valley Crash on Rough and Ready Highway

GRASS VALLEY, CA (November 18, 2022) – Lawrence Lavish was killed after a DUI crash on Rough and Ready Highway in Grass Valley.

The California Highway Patrol identified the 41-year-old Grass Valley man as the victim of the fatal wreck which took place last week.

The incident happened when Lawrence Lavish was riding a 2004 Suzuki GSX R1000 west on Rough and Ready Highway in Grass Valley.

A 2001 GMC Sierra was traveling at a high rate of speed in the same direction at the time. CHP said the driver of the car, 29-year-old Ryan Milligan, then hit the rear of the motorcycle.

The two crashed near the intersection with West Drive. The GMC veered to the left, plowed through the front yard and into the front living room of an unoccupied home.

The FOX 40 News and KNCO News wrote that the accident occurred on Thursday, November 10, shortly after 10 p.m. Lawrence Lavish ended up ejected from his bike onto the ground as a result of the crash.

He sustained serious injuries due to the impact of the collision. An air ambulance flew the motorcyclist to the Sutter Roseville Medical Center, where he died.

Meanwhile, CHP determined that Ryan Milligan was under the influence of alcohol when he struck the rider. He survived the incident with minor injuries.

Officers soon arrested and booked the Nevada City man into the county jail for felony DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter. The Grass Valley DUI crash is still under investigation.
