Third Floor Balcony Collapses on Lawton Street
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (Oct. 29, 2018) — Two women were hospitalized with serious injuries Saturday morning when a third-floor balcony at 2000 block of Lawton Street collapsed.
The incident took place in San Francisco’s Outer Sunset District, according to CBS News.
Lawton Street Balcony Collapse
The accident took place between 26th and 27th avenues just after midnight. Firefighters and paramedics with the San Francisco fire department responded to help the injured women. They were transported to San Francisco General Hospital.
San Francisco’s building inspectors will examine the property to determine what happened.
San Francisco Building Investigation
Police are reviewing the facts to determine fault. It appears that this was a building safety issue and that the property owner or builder may be responsible. The two women who were hurt may file a personal injury lawsuit against the property owner or builder to recoup their financial losses for wages, medical costs and more.
We offer our prayers to the injured in hopes of a full recovery.
