Major Injury Collision on U.S. Route 101 Tuesday
Laytonville, CA (August 31, 2021) – At least one person suffered serious injuries following a traffic accident that occurred on U.S. Route 101, also known as Redwood Highway.
The California Highway Patrol group reported the crash involved a big rig and a passenger car. For an unknown reason, the two vehicles collided in the northbound side of the freeway in Laytonville Tuesday afternoon.
Due to the force from the impact, the truck overturned and landed on its side. Officials mentioned the black Dodge Charger sustained significant damage as a result of the incident.

Emergency crews arrived at the crash site shortly after 2:20 p.m. According to the CHP log, first responders found a person with major injuries in the Dodge. Paramedics at the scene rendered aid to the victim. Additional details on the wreck have not been revealed thus far.
Meanwhile, no immediate information was available on the truck operator.
Detectives assigned to handle the case continue to investigate exactly how and why the traffic accident in Laytonville happened.
