Motorcyclist Jerry Romero, 29, Killed in Hesperia Hit-and-Run Crash
HESPERIA (October 4, 2018) – A driver was arrested after a hit-and-run crash that killed a motorcyclist killed at Main Street and Cottonwood Avenue last month on September 12, according to The Daily Press and Victor Valley News.
The suspect, 31-year-old Leann Nadia Ohayon, was booked into the West Valley Detention Center without incident.
As per the reports, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said 29-year-old Jerry Romero was riding a black and silver Harley-Davidson Sportster Iron 883 when at the same time Ohayon pulled out of a driveway directly in front of the Apple Valley man.
Romero was not able to avoid the car and collided with it. He was ejected from his bike and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials affirmed that Ohayon did not stop to render aid, fled and then abandoned her vehicle at a residence on C Avenue in Hesperia.
The Hesperia woman was found leaving a home in Los Angeles and was ultimately arrested on suspicion of manslaughter.
