A forensic examination of solo-vehicle involved, as well as photos that were taken of the scene, will help investigators determine exactly how and why the crash happened. Authorities will thoroughly look into how the driver was going, whether or not alcohol or drugs were involved, and whether or not there were any mechanical issues with the vehicle. The investigation will also consist of looking at measurements of evidence left by the vehicle such as point of impact, final resting positions of each vehicle, skid marks, and gouge marks.
In such cases where negligence or wrongdoing may have been a factor, the family of the deceased teenager will have the right to pursue a wrongful death, while the family members of the injured juveniles may file a personal injury lawsuit against the at-fault.
