LEMOORE, California (April 3, 2017) – A major injury collision took place on Highway 41 Monday morning, according to California Highway Patrol dispatch team.
The accident involving two vehicles occurred about 6:19 a.m. on southbound Highway 41 at Jackson Avenue. A van involved rolled over and eventually caught fire.
In an article by The Hanford Sentinel, CHP said a 21-year-old Watsonville man was driving a 2017 Honda west on Jackson Avenue when he allegedly failed to stop at the posted stop sign.
The Honda then struck a 2003 Chevrolet. Both ended up in a dirt field southwest of the intersection.
CHP said the driver of the Chevrolet, a 43-year-old man, and a 21-year-old man riding in the Honda as a passenger were seriously injured following the crash. The two patients were flown to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno for treatment.
The incident is still under investigation.
