 Leobardo Cervantes Fatal Long Beach Bicycle Accident California Avenue

Suspect Sought in Fatal Hit-and-run Bicycle Accident

LONG BEACH, Calif. (July 28, 2023) – Leobardo Cervantes, 29, died in a hit-and-run bicycle accident July 9th near Harding Street and California Avenue in Long Beach.

A driver in a dark-colored sedan was allegedly speeding eastbound on Harding Street. The motorist struck the Long Beach man around 7:55 a.m. on July 9th, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

The driver fled the scene without stopping to help the injured bicyclist. Paramedics responded and rushed Leobardo Cervantes to the hospital where he later died.

The Long Beach Police Department responded and initiated an investigation into the crash. Authorities believe the collision was intentional and they are investigating the crash as a homicide, according to a report by Bikinginla.com.
