Leonard Flores, 52, Killed in Riverside Crash on Central Avenue
RIVERSIDE (October 27, 2018) – A driver was killed after an alleged DUI crash along Central Avenue on Saturday morning, according to The Press Enterprise.
Riverside County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 52-year-old Leonard Flores, of Riverside.
As per the article, police said a Toyota SUV was going west on Central Avenue when its driver crossed over into the eastbound lane.
The SUV then struck the Honda Accord that Flores was driving. Both vehicles sustained major damage upon impact, with the Accord coming to a complete stop against a cable communication box.
Woman, 19, Arrested For DUI
Police affirmed that Flores was found pinned inside his car and was ultimately pronounced dead at the scene. The wreck was reported at about 5:20 a.m. in the 4900 block of Central Avenue, near Montclair Drive and Carlo Drive.
Meanwhile, the 19-year-old woman operating the Toyota at the time and her female passenger were treated at the site for minor injuries.
UPDATE: Suspected DUI driver identified
The young female motorist was determined to be under the influence of narcotics when the incident occurred. She was later booked at Riverside County Jail Saturday for felony DUI and vehicular manslaughter.
