Child Hospitalized After Collision on El Camino Real
San Clemente, CA (March 29, 2022) – Police arrested Leonardo Daniel Garcia Hernandez in relation to an injury car accident that occurred on El Camino Real.
On March 23, 29-year-old Hernandez was driving with a 1-year-old child in the backseat. My News LA published an article online reporting the car driven by Hernandez veered off the roadway and slammed into a light pole. The collision took place in the 1513 block of N. El Camino Real in San Clemente.
Emergency crews responded to the accident scene shortly after 1:48 p.m. Medical personnel immediately rendered aid to the juvenile passenger found inside the disabled car. Due to the age and condition of the victim, paramedics transported the child to the hospital for treatment and evaluation.

Meanwhile, police later determined the driver was drunk at the time of the collision. Officer took Leonardo Daniel Garcia Hernandez into custody and charged him with drunken driving and child endangerment.
Detectives continue to investigate the case at this time.
