Leroy Cowles II, 55, Killed in Riverside Crash at Victoria and Arlington Avenues
RIVERSIDE, CA (April 8, 2022) – Leroy Cowles II was killed after a motorcycle crash at Victoria and Arlington avenues in Riverside.
The coroner’s office identified the 55-year-old Riverside man as the victim of the fatal wreck which took place on Thursday morning.
The incident happened when Leroy Cowles II was riding a 2012 Kawasaki west on Arlington Avenue in Riverside. At the same time, a tan 2017 Chevy Spark was going east.
For an unknown reason, the Chevy ran a red light at the intersection. Meanwhile, the rider began making a left-hand turn onto Victoria Avenue.
Car Runs Red Light, Hits Motorcyclist
In the process, the car slammed into the motorcyclist. Paramedics arrived and found Leroy Cowles lying unresponsive on the sidewalk as a result of the crash.
Police said the victim soon died at the scene. The Riverside County News Source wrote that the accident occurred on April 7 at around 5:05 a.m.
The 64-year-old Riverside man driving the Chevy ended up unharmed following the incident and cooperated with the officers. His car obtained heavy front-end damage due to the impact of the collision.
