Leroy Plum, 56, Killed in Landers Crash on Reche Road Near Valencia Drive
SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, CA (May 22, 2021) – Leroy Plum was killed after a crash on Reche Road in the Landers community.
The San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office identified the 56-year-old Landers man as the victim of the fatal accident which occurred on Friday.
The incident happened when Leroy Thomas Plum was standing outside a stalled 2004 Dodge pickup in Landers. The truck broke down perpendicular in the eastbound lane of Reche Road.
At the same time, a 2021 white Nissan Kicks was going east on Reche Road. Z1077 FM News wrote that for an unknown reason, the Nissan then struck the left side of the Dodge.
3 Injured in Car Collision Near Border Avenue
The California Highway Patrol said Leroy Plum ended up pinned between the two cars as a result of the crash. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and pronounced him dead at the scene.
Paramedics took the three occupants of the Kicks to a hospital for treatment. Two of them sustained major injuries while the third patient suffered minor wounds.
Officers reported the wreck on May 21 at about 3:10 a.m. east of Valencia Drive and west of Border Avenue. The cause of the Landers collision is still under investigation.
