Leslie Garcia, 24, Injured in Linda Crash at Kay and Alicia
YUBA COUNTY, CA (December 9, 2022) – A fatal car crash at Kay Street and Alicia Avenue left Leslie Garcia injured in Linda.
The California Highway Patrol identified the 24-year-old Olivehurst woman as the victim of the wreck which took place on Thursday.
The incident happened when Leslie Garcia was driving a white 2018 Toyota Camry north on Alicia Avenue, approaching Kay Street, in Linda.
At the same time, a gray 2000 Toyota Camry was traveling at a high rate of speed west on Kay. The older Toyota ran a stop sign at the intersection for an unknown reason.
Speeding Driver Runs Stop Sign, Hits Victim
CHP said in the process, the speeding car slammed into the 2018 Camry. The Appeal Democrat and ABC 10 News wrote that the accident occurred on December 8 at about 3:32 a.m.
The 2000 Toyota obtained intrusive damage due to the impact of the collision. Leslie Garcia sustained minor injuries as a result of the crash.
The other driver, a 26-year-old Olivehurst man, died at the scene of the incident. The reports added that he was not wearing his seatbelt when he collided with the victim.
Meanwhile, officers forced the area of Kay and Alicia to shut down for a time following the wreck. The cause of the Linda crash is still under investigation.
