Leslie Lepron, 19, ID’d Fatal Victim in Car Accident on East Plaza Boulevard Monday
National City, CA (February 26, 2021) – A 19-year-old passenger, Leslie Lepron, died following a suspected DUI collision on East Plaza Boulevard.
The catastrophic incident took place on February 15, Monday.
According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, a 20-year-old was driving a vehicle with Leslie Lepron riding in the back seat. When the vehicle approached the area near Interstate 805, the car crashed.
Rescue teams arrived at the site shortly after 1:30 a.m. Paramedics rushed Leslie Lepron and another passenger to the hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
Deadly DUI Car Crash in National City, February 15
At approximately 6 a.m., Leslie Lepron reportedly succumbed to their injuries and died. The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed the identity of the fatal victim.
Meanwhile, additional details on the other patient have not been revealed thus far.
Authorities later determined alcohol contributed to the deadly collision. Measurement of the blood-alcohol content of the driver shortly after the incident resulted at about .13 percent.
Further investigation on the case is underway.
