Woman, 29, Killed; Driver Arrested for Hit-and-run
NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (August 21, 2024) – Leyda Medina, 29, died in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident Friday night on Victory Boulevard in North Hollywood.
Then last night the suspect, Oleg Bocharov, 50, of Van Nuys, was arrested on suspicion of felony hit-and-run causing death, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Police booked the suspect into jail and he was being held in lieu of $30,000 bail, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The driver allegedly struck the young woman about 7 p.m. on Friday, August 16th while she attempted to cross Victory Boulevard and Beck Avenue.
Paramedics responded and rushed Leyda Medina to a hospital, but she later died at a hospital.
