Man Dies in Hit-and-Run Collision Near Whittier Boulevard and Via Del Oro
Los Angeles, CA (September 11, 2022) – Police arrested Lilibeth Gonzalez, a 35-year-old woman, following a fatal DUI crash that occurred in the area of Whittier Boulevard and Via Del Oro.
According to KTLA News, a 2018 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Gonzalez struck a man crossing the intersection in East Los Angeles. The horrible crash took place Thursday at about 11:15 p.m.
Rescue teams responded to the accident location and found the victim lying in the roadway. Responding paramedics tried to revive the pedestrian but he sadly succumbed to his injuries and passed away at the scene. Authorities continue to withhold the identity of the deceased pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
Suspect Arrested in Los Angeles Pedestrian Accident
Meanwhile, the article published online mentioned the driver initially fled after hitting the pedestrian. Officers later spotted the hit-and-run suspect walking on foot in the area of East Allston Street and Westside Drive. Police then arrested Lilibeth Gonzalez for driving under the influence of alcohol and hit-and-run.
Further investigation on the case is underway.
