4 Injured in Car Accident at Highway 70 and Beale Road
LINDA (December 28, 2018) – Four were injured, two seriously, after an alleged DUI crash in the area of Highway 70 and Beale Road late Monday night, according to Appeal Democrat and The Sacramento Bee.
The accident involving two vehicles took place on December 24 at around 10 p.m.
As per the reports, sheriff’s department said a deputy attempted to pull over a vehicle driven by 20-year-old Shania Teasley who was leaving Maysville headed south on Highway 70 at the time.
The Linda woman did not stop and led a chase of about a mile with speeds at around 50 mph. She then exited the highway and turned east on North Beale Road into Linda.
Teasly ultimately collided with an SUV which was also turning east at the time. The impact forced the SUV into a pole.
Suspect Shania Teasley, 20, Arrested For DUI
Officials affirmed that the SUV was occupied by seven people when the wreck occurred. Four of them were hurt as a result of the crash.
Two of the victims, children ages 14 and 8, were airlifted to Sacramento-area hospitals with serious injuries. The other two parties were also hospitalized to be treated for injuries ranging from minor to moderate degree.
The names and condition of all the patients were not immediately disclosed. Meanwhile, deputies reported that Teasley, who was believed to be under the influence of alcohol, was unharmed in the wreck.
She was booked into Yuba County Jail on suspicion of felony DUI with injury and evading arrest, and remained in custody with a bail set at $150,000 bail.
