Linden Burke, 81, Killed in Joshua Tree Pedestrian Crash on Highway 62
JOSHUA TREE, CA (March 7, 2023) – Pedestrian Linden Burke was killed after a crash on Highway 62 in Joshua Tree.
The coroner’s office identified the 81-year-old Joshua Tree man as the victim in the fatal accident which took place on Saturday.
The incident happened when Linden Burke was walking on Highway 62, known as Twentynine Palms Highway, in Joshua Tree. He was in the eastbound right lane.
Victim Hit by Car
At the same time, a Chevrolet Avalanche was going east. The Z1077FM wrote that for an unknown reason, the car struck him near White Feather Road.
The California Highway Patrol said the collision occurred on March 4 at around 5 a.m. Deputies confirmed that Linden Burke died at the scene of the pedestrian accident.
Meanwhile, police added that the 43-year-old Twentynine Palms man driving the Chevrolet stopped and stayed at the site following incident.
Officers forced a stretch of Highway 62 to shut down for a time after the collision. The cause of the Joshua Tree pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
