Child, 4, Killed in Highway 26 Crash Between Murray and Jack Tone Roads
LINDEN, San Joaquin County (May 27, 2018) – A 4-year-old child was killed in a car accident Sunday morning on Highway 26, according to a local news source.
The traffic collision occurred at approximately 11:15 a.m. on the highway, between Murray and Jack Tone roads.
Deadly Head-On Car Crash in Linden
Preliminary investigation revealed an eastbound Toyota crashed head-on into a westbound gold Cadillac. The Cadillac reportedly veered into the opposite traffic, for reasons still under investigation. The impact forced the Toyota to rotate counterclockwise off the south side of the roadway and into a culvert where it struck a power pole and came to rest,
Officials mentioned the juvenile victim was restrained in a child safety seat in the back of a Toyota at the time of the accident. The force from the collision was apparently very severe that the child suffered fatal injuries, and was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.
As per the article, the California Highway Patrol reported that a second child was involved in the wreck. The second juvenile was unharmed in the collision.
No details were disclosed on the condition of the Toyota driver, while the man behind the wheels of the involved Cadillac was transported to an area hospital for a complaint of pain.
The highway was shut down at the crash site for more than two hours to give way to the investigation.
We offer our warmest of thoughts, and our prayers to all the parties involved and their families in this difficult time.
