2-Vehicle Collision Near Bald Mountain Heliport Road
Long Barn, CA (April 13, 2023) – Lindsay Cornwell, a 28-year-old woman, suffered injuries following a suspected DUI crash that occurred on Highway 108.
My Motherlode published an article online reporting a collision between a 2018 Nissan Maxima and a 2017 Subaru Outback. Preliminary investigation revealed a 27-year-old man was driving the Maxima heading west on the highway. When the Maxima approached the area near Bald Mountain Heliport Road, the driver allowed the vehicle to drift into the opposite side of the roadway. Officials said the Maxima ended up crashing into an eastbound Outback driven by Lindsay Cornwell, of Pinecrest.
The accident was reported on April 13, Thursday, around 2:45 p.m.
When rescue teams arrived at the site, they immediately checked the conditions of all the occupants in the disabled vehicles. After the evaluation, paramedics confirmed Cornwell sustained minor injuries and received medical aid at the scene.
Authorities added a passenger in the Maxima sustained serious injuries and had to be airlifted to Memorial Medical Center for treatment.
DUI Suspect Arrested After Major Crash in Long Barn
Per local news source, the driver of the Maxima showed signs of intoxication during the investigation process. Police then arrested the man for felony driving under the influence; and causing great bodily injury.
Detectives continue to gather information surrounding the major accident that happened on Highway 108 in Long Barn.
