Lindsay Epstein, 43, Critically Injured in Pacific Beach Hit-and-Run on Ingraham Street
SAN DIEGO, CA (April 28, 2021) – A hit-and-run crash critically injured Lindsay Epstein on Ingraham Street in Pacific Beach.
Family members identified the 43-year-old woman as the victim of the accident which occurred last week on Monday, April 19.
The incident happened when Lindsay Epstein was riding a bicycle southbound on Ingraham Street in Pacific Beach. She was cycling with another rider in the San Diego neighborhood at the time.
Police said for an unknown reason, a vehicle hit Lindsay Epstein from behind. The driver struck her near Fortuna Avenue, south of Grand Avenue.
Bicyclist Hit by Car in San Diego
The victim ended up thrown from her bike and landed on the ground face down. The San Diego Union-Tribune and NBC San Diego reported the collision shortly after 10:20 p.m.
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and found her left lying on the road. She suffered critical injuries, including a fractured skull and a major brain bleed, as a result of the crash.
Medical personnel then rushed Epstein to the Scripps Memorial Hospital for treatment and put her in a medically induced coma. Meanwhile, police affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid to the bicyclist.
The suspect soon fled south on Ingraham. Officials described the car involved as a dark colored 4-door SUV with front-end damage.
