Lisette Villasenor, 36, Killed in Hesperia Crash on Highway 395

HESPERIA, CA (May 12, 2023) – Lisette Villasenor was killed and her children were injured after a DUI crash on Highway 395 in Hesperia.

The Sheriff’s Department identified the 36-year-old Victorville woman as one of the victims in the fatal wreck which took place on Thursday.

The incident happened when Lisette Villasenor was driving a 2018 Toyota Prius south on Highway 395 in Hesperia with her two children. At the same time, a 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling north.

Deputies said the Chevrolet then crossed into oncoming lanes of traffic in front of the Toyota. In the process, the Tahoe slammed head-on into the Prius.

The two cars crashed between Poplar and Main Streets. The Victor Valley News and KTLA News wrote that the collision occurred on May 11 at around 6:31 p.m.

2 Children Injured in Wreck

Lisette Villasenor sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash. Her children ended up suffering from moderate to major injuries following the accident.

Two helicopters and a ground ambulance rushed the family of three to the hospital, where the mother died. Loved ones set up a GoFundMe page to help cover the funeral and medical bills of the family.

Meanwhile, the male driver of the Chevrolet did not sustain any wound upon impact. Officials determined that he was under the influence of alcohol when he hit the victims.

Deputies soon arrested the suspect for gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and felony DUI. The Hesperia crash is still under investigation.

Officers forced Highway 395 between Poplar Street and Main Street to shut down for several hours after the wreck. Anyone with information can call the police or the We-Tip at 1-800-78-CRIME.
